The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you takes charge of burying his brother, let him shroud him well."There is also a narration on this from Jabir.
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا عمر بن يونس حدثنا عكرمة بن عمار عن هشام بن حسان عن محمد بن سيرين
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا ولي أحدكم أخاه فليحسن كفنه وفيه عن جابر
[Sahih] Ibn Majah also narrated it in "Funerals," chapter "What Is Recommended for the Shroud," no. 1474, from Ibn Bashar with the same wording. It has a sahih corroborating narration in Muslim, "Funerals": 15, no. 943, and elsewhere. There is also a narration on this subject from Jabir [Muslim, no. 943].
