The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Wear white clothes, for they are among the best of your garments, and shroud your dead in them."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا بشر بن المفضل عن عبد الله بن عثمان بن خثيم عن سعيد بن جبير
قال رسول الله ﷺ البسوا من ثيابكم البياض فإنها من خير ثيابكم وكفنوا فيها موتاكم
[Its isnad is hasan]. Abu Dawud narrated it in "Clothing," chapter on white clothing, no. 4061, and Ibn Majah, no. 1472, from the hadith of Ibn Khuthaym with the same wording. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 1439–1441, as did Hakim, 1/354, saying it meets the criteria of Muslim, and Dhahabi agreed with him.There are also narrations on this subject from Samura [to come, 2810], Ibn Umar [Ibn Adi in Kamil, 7/2535], and Ayesha [to come, 996].
