I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The soul of the believer leaves gently like trickling sweat, and I do not like a death like the death of a donkey."Someone asked, "What is the death of a donkey?"He replied, "Sudden death."

[Its chain is daif] Tabarani related it in Al-Awsat, 6/420, no. 5898, from the hadith of Muslim bin Ibrahim, through the same route. Husam is daif, to the point of nearly being abandoned (Taqrib). The hadith has daif corroborating narrations in Bayhaqi's Shuab, no. 10216, and elsewhere.
