I twisted the garlands for the sacrificial animals of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he did not enter the state of ihram, nor did he refrain from wearing any of his clothing.
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا الليث عن عبد الرحمن بن القاسم عن أبيه
فتلت قلائد هدي رسول الله ﷺ ثم لم يحرم ولم يترك شيئا من الثياب
Agreed upon (by Bukhari and Muslim). Muslim narrated it in the Book of Hajj, chapter on the recommendation of sending the sacrificial animal to the sanctuary, etc., hadith no. 1321/132, from the hadith of Abdul-Rahman bin Qasim. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Hajj, chapter on one who marks and garlands the sacrificial animal at Zulhulayfa and then enters the state of ihram, hadith no. 1696, from the hadith of Qasim bin Muhammad, with the same wording.
