Quraysh and those who followed their religion, known as the Hums, used to stand at Muzdalifa, saying, "We are the dwellers of Allah's sanctuary." Everyone else would stand at Arafat. Then Allah Most High revealed, "Then depart from where the people depart" [Baqarah 2:199].
