I am the messenger of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to you. He says, "Remain at your ritual stations, for you are upon a heritage from the heritage of Ibrahim."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن عمرو بن دينار عن عمرو بن عبد الله بن صفوان عن يزيد بن شيبان قال أتانا ابن مربع الأنصاري ونحن وقوف بالموقف مكانا يباعده
إني رسول رسول الله ﷺ إليكم يقول كونوا على مشاعركم فإنكم على إرث من إرث إبراهيم
[Its chain of transmission is sahih] Nasai narrated it in the Book of Hajj Rites, Chapter on Raising the Hands in Supplication at Arafah, no. 3017, from Qutayba with the same wording, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 2818, as did Hakim, 1/462, and Dhahabi, and it is documented in Musnad Humaydi, no. 577, in my edition.There are also reports on this subject from Ali [coming up, no. 885], Ayesha [coming up, no. 884], Jubayr bin Mutim [Bukhari, no. 1664, and Muslim, no. 1220], and Sharid bin Suwayd Thaqafi [Ahmad, 4/389, and others].
