A similar report with the same meaning is transmitted from the Prophet ﷺ, and this version is the more authentic one. The hadith also contains an account of an incident.
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا عبد الله بن إدريس عن عبد الملك بن أبي سليمان عن عطاء عن يعلى بن أمية قال رأى النبي ﷺ أعرابيا قد أحرم وعليه جبة فأمره أن ينزعها حدثنا ابن أبي عمر حدثنا سفيان عن عمرو بن دينار عن عطاء
عن النبي ﷺ نحوه بمعناه وهذا أصح وفي الحديث قصة
Agreed upon [by Bukhari and Muslim]. Muslim reported it in the Book of Hajj, chapter on what a person in the state of ihram for Hajj or Umrah is permitted to wear, etc., hadith 7/1180, from Ibn Abu Umar. Bukhari reported it, hadith 1536, through the narration of Ata bin Abu Rabah.
