The Prophet ﷺ designated al-Aqeeq as the miqat for the people of the East.
حدثنا أبو كريب حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن يزيد بن أبي زياد عن محمد بن علي
أن النبي ﷺ وقت لأهل المشرق العقيق
[Its isnad is sahih]. It is agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim. Bukhari transmitted it in "Jaza of Hunting," in the chapter on what is forbidden of perfume for the one in ihram, man or woman, hadith 1838, through the narration of Layth. Muslim transmitted it as hadith 1177, through the narration of Nafi.
