The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to sleep, then get up and pray without performing ablution.
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن شعبة عن قتادة
كان أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ ينامون ثم يقومون فيصلون ولا يتوضئون
Muslim also narrated it in the Book of Menstruation, chapter, "The Evidence That the Sleep of One Sitting Does Not Invalidate wudu," hadith no. 125/376, from the hadith of Shubah, with the wording of Ibn Mubarak. Its chain is sahih.
