The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded me to perform the witr prayer before going to sleep.

Sourcing, [Its isnad is hasan] Daraqutni reported it, and from his route Mizzi cited it in Tahzib Kamal, 21/130, from the hadith of Abu Kurayb Muhammad bin Ala with the same chain, at greater length. Nasai also reported it in Sunan al-Kubra, hadith no. 455, in brief, from the hadith of Yahya bin Zakariya bin Abu Zaida with the same chain, covering its other portion concerning the command to pray two rakahs of Fajr. The hadith has further corroborating narrations.On this subject there is also a narration from Abu Dharr [Nasai, hadith no. 2406].The hadith, "Whoever among you fears...", was also reported by Muslim, hadith no. 162/755 (Book of the Prayer of Travelers, Chapter of one who fears he will not rise at the end of the night should pray witr at its beginning), from the hadith of Abu Muawiya Darir with the same chain.
