The Prophet ﷺ performed ablution, washing his face three times and his hands three times, and wiping his head. He said, "The ears are part of the head."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا حماد بن زيد عن سنان بن ربيعة عن شهر بن حوشب
توضأ النبي ﷺ فغسل وجهه ثلاثا ويديه ثلاثا ومسح برأسه وقال الأذنان من الرأس
[Hasan]. Abu Dawud also narrated it in the Book of Purification, Chapter on the Description of the Wudu of the Prophet ﷺ, hadith no. 134, from Qutayba, with the same wording, and the hadith has supporting narrations.Shahr is hasan al-hadith, and the majority deemed him trustworthy, while Sinan is of truthful standing.On this subject there is also a narration from Anas, [Daraqutni: 1/103, hadith no. 361, and Tabarani in Saghir, p. 64].
