Sourcing, sahih.Ahmad narrated it, 32/4, 33, from Waki with the same wording, and it is found in Sunan Abu Dawud, no. 142, and Ibn Majah, no. 407, from the hadith of Asim, and in Sunan Nasai, 79/1, no. 114, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri with the same wording. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 150, 168, as did Ibn Hibban (al-Ihsan), 1051, and Hakim, 1/147, 148, and Dhahabi.On this topic there is also a narration from Ibn Abbas [to come, no. 39], and from Mustawrid, who is Ibn Shaddad Fihri [to come, no. 40], and from Abu Ayub Ansari [Ahmad, 416/5, and Ibn Abu Shayba, 12/1].
