The Prophet ﷺ wiped his head twice, beginning from the back of his head and then moving to the front, and he wiped both of his ears, their outer and inner surfaces.

أن النبي ﷺ مسح برأسه مرتين بدأ بمؤخر رأسه ثم بمقدمه وبأذنيه كلتيهما ظهورهما وبطونهما
[Hasan] Abu Dawud also narrated it in "Purification," chapter "The Description of the Prophet's Wudu," hadith no. 126, from the hadith of Bishr with the same wording. Its chain is daif, but Busiri graded it hasan. It is also recorded in Musnad Humaydi, hadith no. 343, in my edition, may Allah make its publication easy for us. The hadith has corroborating narrations in Ibn Khuzayma (148, 152) and elsewhere.
