The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiped his head with both hands, moving them forward and back. He began at the front of his head, drew them to the nape of his neck, then brought them back to where he had started, and then washed his feet.
حدثنا إسحق بن موسى الأنصاري حدثنا معن بن عيسى القزاز حدثنا مالك بن أنس عن عمرو بن يحيى عن أبيه
أن رسول الله ﷺ مسح رأسه بيديه فأقبل بهما وأدبر بدأ بمقدم رأسه ثم ذهب بهما إلى قفاه ثم ردهما حتى رجع إلى المكان الذي بدأ منه ثم غسل رجليه
Agreed upon (by Bukhari and Muslim). Also narrated by Muslim in the Book of Purification, chapter, On the Description of Wudu, hadith no. 235, from Ishaq bin Musa, and by Bukhari in the Book of Wudu, chapter, Wiping the Whole Head, hadith no. 185, from the hadith of Malik, and it is found in full in Muwatta 1/18 (Yahya's version).There are also narrations on this subject from Muawiya [Abu Dawud, hadith no. 124], Miqdam bin Mad Yakrib [Abu Dawud, hadith no. 122, and Ibn Majah, hadith no. 442], and Ayesha [Nasai 2/1, 73, hadith no. 100].
