A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, when I eat meat I become aroused toward women and desire overcomes me, so I have forbidden meat to myself."Then Allah revealed, "You who believe, do not forbid the good things that Allah has made lawful for you, and do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not love the transgressors. And eat of what Allah has provided for you, lawful and good" [Maidah 5:87–88].He said, this is a hasan gharib hadith. Some have narrated it from Uthman bin Saad as mursal, without mentioning Ibn Abbas in the chain, and Khalid Haddan narrated it from Ikrima as mursal.

[Its isnad is daif]. Ibn Adi reported it in 5/1817 from the hadith of Abu Asim Dahhak bin Makhlad, through the same chain. Uthman bin Saad the scribe is daif (Taqrib). Tabari also reported it in his Tafsir, 7/7, with a sahih isnad from Ikrima as a mursal report. The hadith has daif corroborating narrations as well.
