"We are two blind men, Messenger of Allah. Is there any exemption for us?"Then came the revelation, "Not equal are those believers who remain behind, other than the disabled" [Nisa 4:95], and "Allah has favored those who strive" [Nisa 4:95], "over those who remain behind by a degree" [Nisa 4:95]. So these are the ones who remain behind who are not disabled. And "Allah has favored those who strive over those who remain behind with a great reward" [Nisa 4:95], degrees from Him above those believers who remain behind and are not disabled.

إنا أعميان يا رسول الله فهل لنا رخصة فنزلت {لا يستوي القاعدون من المؤمنين غير أولي الضرر} و {فضل الله المجاهدين} {على القاعدين درجة} فهؤلاء القاعدون غير أولي الضرر {وفضل الله المجاهدين على القاعدين أجرا عظيما} درجات منه على القاعدين من المؤمنين غير أولي الضرر
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Nasai also reported it in al-Kubra, no. 11117, from Hasan bin Muhammad with the same chain. Bukhari reported it, no. 3954, 4595, from the narration of Ibn Jurayj with the same chain, in an abridged form.Ibn Jahsh is Abu Ahmad Ibn Jahsh bin Qays, as mentioned in the tafsir of Tabari, 5/145, and elsewhere. Abdul-Kareem is Ibn Malik Jazari.His statement, "So these who remain seated... etc." is an interpolation from the words of Ibn Jurayj, as stated by Ibn Hajar (Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi, 4/91).
