He performed ablution and ran his fingers through his beard. Someone said to him, or he said, I said to him, "Do you run your fingers through your beard?"He replied, "What should prevent me? I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ running his fingers through his beard."
حدثنا ابن أبي عمر حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن عبد الكريم بن أبي المخارق أبي أمية عن حسان بن بلال قال
توضأ فخلل لحيته فقيل له أو قال فقلت له أتخلل لحيتك قال وما يمنعني ولقد رأيت رسول الله ﷺ يخلل لحيته
[Its chain of transmission is daif]. Ibn Majah narrated it in the chapter on purification, in the section on what has been said about combing through the beard with the fingers, hadith 429, from Muhammad bin Abu Umar, through the same chain. Abdul-Kareem bin Abu Mukhariq is daif, and the hadith that follows (31) suffices in its place.
