The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed some cloaks but gave nothing to Makhramah. So Makhramah said, "My son, come with me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." I went with him.He said, "Go in and call him for me."So I called him out, and the Prophet ﷺ came out wearing one of the cloaks. He said, "I had set this aside for you."Makhramah looked at it, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "Makhramah is pleased."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا الليث عن ابن أبي مليكة
أن رسول الله ﷺ قسم أقبية ولم يعط مخرمة شيئا فقال مخرمة يا بني انطلق بنا إلى رسول الله ﷺ فانطلقت معه قال ادخل فادعه لي فدعوته له فخرج النبي ﷺ وعليه قباء منها فقال خبأت لك هذا قال فنظر إليه فقال رضي مخرمة
Agreed upon (muttafaq alayhi). Bukhari narrated it in "The Book of Gifts, Their Virtue, and Encouragement Toward Them," chapter, "How a Slave and Goods Are Taken Into Possession," hadith no. 2599, and Muslim, hadith no. 1058, from Qutayba, with this chain.
