[Sahih]Takhrij: Ibn Majah also reported it in the Book of Clothing, Chapter on White Garments, no. 3567, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, with the same chain, and he stated clearly that he had heard it directly. Hakim reported it as well (4/185) and graded it sahih according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Nasai also reported it (34/4, no. 1897, and 205/8, no. 5324).There is also corroboration on this subject. The hadith has a hasan supporting narration reported by Nasai from Ibn Abbas [previously mentioned at no. 994] and from Ibn Umar, reported by Ibn Adi in Al-Kamil (7/2535).
