The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to do seven things and forbade us from seven. He commanded us to follow funeral processions, visit the sick, respond to the sneezer, accept invitations, support the wronged, fulfill oaths, and return greetings of peace. And he forbade us from seven, gold rings or gold bands, silver vessels, and wearing silk, brocade, heavy brocade, and qassi cloth.
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا محمد بن جعفر وعبد الرحمن بن مهدي قالا حدثنا شعبة عن الأشعث بن سليم عن معاوية بن سويد بن مقرن
أمرنا رسول الله ﷺ بسبع ونهانا عن سبع أمرنا باتباع الجنازة وعيادة المريض وتشميت العاطس وإجابة الداعي ونصر المظلوم وإبرار القسم ورد السلام ونهانا عن سبع عن خاتم الذهب أو حلقة الذهب وآنية الفضة ولبس الحرير والديباج والإستبرق والقسي
Agreed upon [by Bukhari and Muslim]. Muslim narrated it in the Book of Clothing and Adornment, chapter "Prohibition of Using Vessels of Gold and Silver for Men and Women," etc., hadith no. 2066, from Muhammad bin Bashshar. And Bukhari, hadith no. 1239, narrated it from the hadith of Shubah through him.
