Ali said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade gold rings, garments made from qassi cloth, the mithara saddle covering, and jia."Abu Ahwas said, "It is a drink made in Egypt from barley."He said, this is a hasan sahih hadith.
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن أبي إسحق
قال علي نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن خاتم الذهب وعن القسي وعن الميثرة وعن الجعة قال أبو الأحوص وهو شراب يتخذ بمصر من الشعير قال هذا حديث حسن صحيح
[hasan] Takhrij: Nasai also narrated it 8/165, no. 5168 (Adornment, chapter on the gold ring) from Qutayba, and Ibn Majah, no. 3654, from the hadith of Abu Ahwas, and Abu Dawud, no. 4051, from the hadith of Abu Ishaq through the same chain, and he explicitly stated that he heard it directly, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (Al-Ihsan) 5414.
