Abu Ayub reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you sneezes, let him say, 'Praise be to Allah in every circumstance.' The one who responds to him should say, 'May Allah have mercy on you.' And let the one who sneezed say, 'May Allah guide you and set your affairs right.'"Muhammad bin Muthanna narrated to us, Muhammad bin Jafar narrated to us, Shuba narrated to us from Ibn Abu Layla with this chain something similar.Tirmidhi said, this is how Shuba transmitted this hadith from Ibn Abu Layla, from Abu Ayub, from the Prophet ﷺ. Ibn Abu Layla was inconsistent in this hadith. Sometimes he would report it from Abu Ayub, from the Prophet ﷺ, and sometimes from Ali, from the Prophet ﷺ.Muhammad bin Bashshar and Muhammad bin Yahya Thaqafi Marwazi narrated to us, both saying, Yahya bin Saeed Qattan narrated to us from Ibn Abu Layla, from his brother Isa, from Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Layla, from Ali, from the Prophet ﷺ, something similar.

أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إذا عطس أحدكم فليقل الحمد لله على كل حال وليقل الذي يرد عليه يرحمك الله وليقل هو يهديكم الله ويصلح بالكم حدثنا محمد بن المثنى حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن ابن أبي ليلى بهذا الإسناد نحوه قال هكذا روى شعبة هذا الحديث عن ابن أبي ليلى عن أبي أيوب عن النبي ﷺ وكان ابن أبي ليلى يضطرب في هذا الحديث يقول أحيانا عن أبي أيوب عن النبي ﷺ ويقول أحيانا عن علي عن النبي ﷺ حدثنا محمد بن بشار ومحمد بن يحيى الثقفي المروزي قالا حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد القطان عن ابن أبي ليلى عن أخيه عيسى عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى عن علي عن النبي ﷺ نحوه
