The time is near when people will drive their camels hard in search of knowledge, yet they will find no one more learned than the scholar of Madinah.

يوشك أن يضرب الناس أكباد الإبل يطلبون العلم فلا يجدون أحدا أعلم من عالم المدينة
Sourcing. Its isnad is daif. Humaydi narrated it, no. 1155, and Ahmad, 2/299, both from Sufyan bin Uyayna with the same wording, and he stated explicitly that he had heard it directly. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 2308, and so did Hakim, 1/90, 91, saying it met the criterion of Muslim, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Ibn Jurayj and Abu Zubayr transmitted it using the ambiguous form "an" rather than stating explicitly that they had heard it, and it has corroborating narrations, though it is disconnected according to Ibn Abdul-Barr in Intifa, p. 20.
