The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A single jurist is harder on Satan than a thousand worshippers."
حدثنا محمد بن إسمعيل حدثنا إبراهيم بن موسى أخبرنا الوليد بن مسلم حدثنا روح بن جناح عن مجاهد
قال رسول الله ﷺ فقيه أشد على الشيطان من ألف عابد
[Its chain of transmission is very daif]. Ibn Majah also narrated it in the Introduction, chapter on the merit of scholars and encouragement to seek knowledge, no. 222, from the hadith of Walid bin Muslim, through Rawh bin Jannah. The majority of scholars judged him daif, and Ibn Hibban and others accused him of fabrication.
