[Sahih]. It was also reported by Ibn Abu Shayba, no. 2538, from the hadith of Abu Bakr bin Ayyash through the same chain, and Sufyan Thawri followed him in agreement, as found in Nasai, 2/185, no. 1036. The hadith has supporting narrations, among them the one that follows.There are also reports on this subject from Saad [coming at 259], Anas [see Nasb Raya, 1/372, 373], Abu Humayd, Abu Usayd, Sahl bin Saad, Muhammad bin Maslama [see 227 above], and Abu Masud [Abu Dawud, no. 863].
