We used to do that, but we were forbidden from it and instructed to place our palms upon our knees.Qutayba narrated to us, Abu Awana narrated to us, from Abu Yafur, from Musab bin Saad, from his father Saad, this very report.Abu Humayd Saidi's name is Abdul-Rahman bin Saad bin Mundhir. Abu Usayd Saidi's name is Malik bin Rabia. Abu Husayn's name is Uthman bin Asim Asadi. Abu Abdul-Rahman Sulami's name is Abdullah bin Habib. Abu Yafur is Abdul-Rahman bin Ubayd bin Nastas. Abu Yafur Abdi's name is Waqid, and it is also said Waqdan, and he is the one who narrated from Abdullah bin Abu Awfa. Both of them are from the people of Kufa.

Agreed upon (by Bukhari and Muslim). Muslim also narrated it in the Book of Mosques, chapter on the recommendation of placing the hands on the knees during ruku and the abrogation of tatbiq, hadith no. 535/29, from Qutayba, and Bukhari, hadith no. 790, from the hadith of Abu Yafur, with this wording.
