The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to lead us in prayer, and he would hold his left hand with his right.
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن سماك بن حرب
كان رسول الله ﷺ يؤمنا فيأخذ شماله بيمينه
[Its chain is hasan] Ibn Majah also recorded it, in Establishing the Prayers, chapter on placing the right hand over the left in prayer, no. 809, from the hadith of Abu Ahwas through the same route. Ahmad recorded it, 5/226, with a sahih chain, from Simak through his chain, and it contains, "I saw the Prophet ﷺ ... place this over his chest," meaning in prayer, and its chain is hasan. On this subject there are also narrations from Waail bin Hajar, [Muslim, no. 401], Ghutayf bin Harith [Ahmad, 4/105, 5/290], Ibn Abbas [Ibn Hibban, no. 885, and Bayhaqi, 22/29], Ibn Masud [Abu Dawud, no. 755], and Sahl bin Saad [Bukhari, no. 740].
