The Prophet ﷺ said, "Every son of Adam is a sinner, and the best of sinners are those who repent."
حدثنا أحمد بن منيع حدثنا زيد بن حباب حدثنا علي بن مسعدة الباهلي حدثنا قتادة
أن النبي ﷺ قال كل ابن آدم خطاء وخير الخطائين التوابون
Sourcing, its chain of transmission is daif. Ibn Majah also recorded it in the chapter on Zuhd, section on the mention of repentance, hadith no. 4251, from Ahmad bin Manee with the same wording. Hakim graded it sahih, 4/244, but Dhahabi took issue with him, saying, "Ali bin Masada is weak" and Qatada narrated it with an ambiguous chain (anana).
