The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his guest, and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent."
حدثنا سويد أخبرنا عبد الله بن المبارك عن معمر عن الزهري عن أبي سلمة
عن النبي ﷺ قال من كان يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر فليكرم ضيفه ومن كان يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر فليقل خيرا أو ليصمت
Agreed upon [by Bukhari and Muslim]. Bukhari related it in the Book of Manners, Chapter on Honoring the Guest and Serving Him Personally... etc., no. 6138, from the hadith of Mamar, and Muslim, no. 47, from the hadith of Zuhri, with the same wording.There are also narrations on this subject from Ayesha [Ahmad: 6/69] and Anas [Ibrahim bin Ishaq Harbi in Ikram al-Dayf, nos. 38, 39] and Abu Shurayh Adawi [mentioned previously at no. 1967].
