The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, let me live as one of the poor, let me die as one of the poor, and gather me on the Day of Resurrection among the company of the poor."Ayesha asked, "Why, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Because they will enter Paradise forty years before the wealthy. Ayesha, do not turn away the poor person, even if you can only give half a date. Ayesha, love the poor and draw them close, and Allah will draw you close on the Day of Resurrection."

أن رسول الله ﷺ قال اللهم أحيني مسكينا وأمتني مسكينا واحشرني في زمرة المساكين يوم القيامة فقالت عائشة لم يا رسول الله قال إنهم يدخلون الجنة قبل أغنيائهم بأربعين خريفا يا عائشة لا تردي المسكين ولو بشق تمرة يا عائشة أحبي المساكين وقربيهم فإن الله يقربك يوم القيامة
