The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I and the Hour have been sent like these two," and Abu Dawud pointed with his index finger and middle finger, showing how little one extended beyond the other.
حدثنا محمود بن غيلان حدثنا أبو داود أنبأنا شعبة عن قتادة
قال رسول الله ﷺ بعثت أنا والساعة كهاتين وأشار أبو داود بالسبابة والوسطى فما فضل إحداهما على الأخرى
Agreed upon (by Bukhari and Muslim). Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Heart-Softening Traditions, chapter on the saying of the Prophet ﷺ, "I have been sent, and the Hour, like these two..." etc., no. 6504, and Muslim, no. 2951, from the hadith of Shuba, with this wording. It is also in Tayalisi, no. 1980, from the hadith of Qatada and Abu Tayah, from Anas, with this wording.
