The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When Allah decrees that one of His servants will die in a particular land, He creates for him a need that draws him to it," or he said, "a need there."
حدثنا أحمد بن منيع وعلي بن حجر المعنى واحد قالا حدثنا إسمعيل بن إبراهيم عن أيوب عن أبي المليح بن أسامة
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا قضى الله لعبد أن يموت بأرض جعل له إليها حاجة أو قال بها حاجة
[Its chain is sahih. Ahmad narrated it (4/429) from Ismail bin Ulaya through the same chain. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (H: 1815), as did Hakim (1/42), and Dhahabi agreed with him. The hadith has many corroborating narrations, among them the preceding hadith.]
