The Prophet ﷺ ruled that debts are settled before bequests, even though you recite the verse mentioning bequests before debts.
حدثنا ابن أبي عمر حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن أبي إسحق الهمداني عن الحارث
أن النبي ﷺ قضى بالدين قبل الوصية وأنتم تقرون الوصية قبل الدين
[Hasan] Ibn Majah also recorded it in the Chapters on Inheritance, in the chapter on the inheritance of the agnate relative, hadith no. 2739, from the hadith of Abu Ishaq Sabi with this same wording, but its chain is very daif. However, the meaning of the hadith has a hasan corroborating witness in Ibn Majah, hadith no. 2433, and elsewhere.
