The Prophet ﷺ delivered a sermon while mounted on his she-camel, and I was beneath her neck. She was chewing her cud, and her saliva was dripping between my shoulders. I heard him say, "Allah has given every person with a right his due, so there is no bequest to an heir. The child belongs to the marriage bed, and for the fornicator is the stone. Whoever claims descent from someone other than his father, or attaches himself to people other than his masters out of preference against them, upon him is the curse of Allah. Allah will accept from him neither obligatory nor voluntary worship."He said, I heard Ahmad bin al-Hasan say, Ahmad bin Hanbal said, "I have no concern about the hadith of Shahr bin Hawshab."He said, I asked Muhammad bin Ismail about Shahr bin Hawshab, and he declared him reliable, saying, "It is only Ibn Awn who speaks against him." Then Ibn Awn narrated from Hilal bin Ubayy Zaynab from Shahr bin Hawshab.
