The bedouins asked, "Messenger of Allah, should we not seek treatment?"He replied, "Yes, servants of Allah, seek treatment, for Allah has not sent down any disease without sending down a cure for it," or he said, "a remedy, except for one disease."They asked, "Messenger of Allah, what is it?"He answered, "Old age."

[Its chain of transmission is sahih] Abu Dawud transmitted it in the Book of Medicine, chapter on a man treating himself, hadith: 3855, and Ibn Majah, hadith: 3436, from the hadith of Ziyad bin Alaqa by this route. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, hadith: 1395, as did Busiri, and Hakim, 4/399, and Dhahabi.There are also reports on this subject from Ibn Masud [Ibn Majah, hadith: 3438, and Nasai in Kubra, 4/194, hadith: 6865], Abu Hurairah [Bukhari, hadith: 5668], Abu Khuzama from his father, which will come at 2065 and 2148, and Ibn Abbas [Abd bin Humayd, hadith: 625, and Tahawi in Maani al-Athar, 4/323].
