[Its isnad is hasan]. Bukhari narrated it in Adab al-Mufrad, no. 309, with the wording that follows, and Hakim said in Mustadrak, 1/47, "A group of the imams narrated it with a connected chain from Kathir bin Zayd, but then Hammad bin Zayd alone stopped it at him, making it mawquf." There is also a report on this topic from Abdullah bin Masud [mentioned earlier, no. 1977].
