The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The believer is not one who slanders, nor one who curses, nor one who is obscene, nor one who is foul-mouthed."
حدثنا محمد بن يحيى الأزدي البصري حدثنا محمد بن سابق عن إسرائيل عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن علقمة
قال رسول الله ﷺ ليس المؤمن بالطعان ولا اللعان ولا الفاحش ولا البذيء
[Hasan]. Ahmad narrated it: 1/404, 405, from Muhammad bin Sabiq with the same wording. Hakim graded it sahih: 1/12, and Dhahabi agreed with him. The hadith has corroborating narrations in Bukhari's Adab al-Mufrad, no. 312, Ibn Hibban, no. 48, Hakim, and others.
