The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "For a man to discipline his child is better for him than giving a sa of charity."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا يحيى بن يعلى عن ناصح عن سماك بن حرب
قال رسول الله ﷺ لأن يؤدب الرجل ولده خير من أن يتصدق بصاع
Its chain is daif. Ahmad narrated it in 5/96, 102, and Baghawi in Sharh al-Sunnah 9/348, 349, hadith 2413, from the hadith of Nasih the weaver through the same route. Dhahabi said, "Nasih is done for" (Talkhis Mustadrak 4/263), and Ibn Hajar said, daif (Taqrib).
