We used to prepare a date drink for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a waterskin that had a strap fastened at its top and a spout at its lower end. We would prepare it in the morning, and he would drink it in the evening, and we would prepare it in the evening, and he would drink it in the morning.

كنا ننبذ لرسول الله ﷺ في سقاء توكأ في أعلاه له عزلاء ننبذه غدوة ويشربه عشاء وننبذه عشاء ويشربه غدوة
Muslim also narrated it in the Book of Drinks, chapter on the permissibility of nabidh that has not fermented or become intoxicating, hadith no. 2005, from Muhammad bin Muthanna through the same chain.There are also narrations on this subject from Jabir [Muslim, no. 1998, 1999], Abu Saeed [Muslim, no. 18], and Ibn Abbas [Muslim, no. 2004].
