The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Any hide that has been tanned has become pure." This is the position followed by most of the people of knowledge, who held that the skins of dead animals become pure once they are tanned.

قال رسول الله ﷺ أيما إهاب دبغ فقد طهر والعمل على هذا عند أكثر أهل العلم قالوا في جلود الميتة إذا دبغت فقد طهرت
