The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Believing in omens is a form of shirk, and none of us is free of it, but Allah removes it through reliance upon Him."

رسول الله ﷺ الطيرة من الشرك وما منا ولكن الله يذهبه بالتوكل
Its chain of transmission is sahih. It was also narrated by Abu Dawud in "Medicine," chapter on omens, no. 3910, and Ibn Majah, no. 3538, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, with the same wording. Shubah followed him in the narration recorded by Tayalisi, no. 356. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 1427, as did Hakim, 1/18, and others.On this subject, there are also narrations from Saad [Abu Dawud, no. 3921], Abu Hurairah [Bukhari, no. 5754, and Muslim, no. 2223], Habis Tamimi [Bukhari in Adab al-Mufrad, no. 914], Ayesha [Bukhari in Adab al-Mufrad, no. 912, and Ahmad, 6/129, 150, 240], and Ibn Umar [Bukhari, no. 5753, and Muslim, no. 2225].
