The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Asr while the sun was still shining in her chamber, before the shade had risen above its walls.
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا الليث عن ابن شهاب عن عروة
صلى رسول الله ﷺ العصر والشمس في حجرتها ولم يظهر الفيء من حجرتها
Agreed upon. Bukhari transmitted it, Timings, Chapter on the time of Asr, no. 545, from Qutayba, and Muslim, Mosques, Chapter on the times of the five prayers, no. 611, from the hadith of Ibn Shihab Zuhri through the same chain.On this subject there are also narrations from Anas [Bukhari, no. 550, and Muslim, no. 621], Abu Arwa [Ahmad: 4/344], Jabir [previously mentioned: 150], and Rafi bin Khadij [Bukhari, no. 485, and Muslim, no. 625].The hadith of Rafi concerning delaying the prayer was transmitted by Ahmad: 3/463 and Daraqutni: 1/93, who said, "This Ibn Rafi is not strong."
