Abu Saeed Khudri reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the purchase of war spoils until they have been distributed.

[Hasan] Ibn Majah also narrated it in the Book of Trade, Chapter on the Prohibition of Buying What is in the Wombs of Livestock, etc, hadith no. 2196, from the hadith of Hatim, with this wording, but its chain is daif. The hadith has many corroborating narrations in Ibn Abu Shayba, 12/435–437, and elsewhere.There is also a narration on this subject from Abu Hurairah [Ahmad, 2/472].
