Abu Thalaba reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the cooking pots of the Magians. He said, "Clean them by washing, then cook in them." And he forbade every predator and every animal with fangs.This hadith has been narrated through other chains from Abu Thalaba. Abu Idris al-Khawlani also narrated it from Abu Thalaba. Abu Qilaba did not hear directly from Abu Thalaba, rather he narrated it from Abu Asma al-Rahabi from Abu Thalaba.Hannad narrated to us, Ibn Mubarak narrated to us from Haywa bin Shurayh, who said, I heard Rabia bin Yazid al-Dimashqi say, Abu Idris al-Khawlani Aidhullah bin Ubaydullah informed me, he said, I heard Abu Thalaba al-Khashani say:I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, we live in a land of People of the Book. May we eat from their vessels?"He replied, "If you can find vessels other than theirs, do not eat from theirs. But if you cannot find others, then wash them and eat from them."

عن أبي ثعلبة الخشني قال

سئل رسول الله ﷺ عن قدور المجوس فقال أنقوها غسلا واطبخوا فيها ونهى عن كل سبع وذي ناب وقد روي هذا الحديث من غير هذا الوجه عن أبي ثعلبة ورواه أبو إدريس الخولاني عن أبي ثعلبة وأبو قلابة لم يسمع من أبي ثعلبة إنما رواه عن أبي أسماء الرحبي عن أبي ثعلبة حدثنا هناد حدثنا ابن المبارك عن حيوة بن شريح قال سمعت ربيعة بن يزيد الدمشقي يقول أخبرني أبو إدريس الخولاني عائذ الله بن عبيد الله قال سمعت أبا ثعلبة الخشني يقول أتيت رسول الله ﷺ فقلت يا رسول الله إنا بأرض قوم أهل كتاب نأكل في آنيتهم قال إن وجدتم غير آنيتهم فلا تأكلوا فيها فإن لم تجدوا فاغسلوها وكلوا فيها
