When the Prophet ﷺ gained victory over a people, he would remain in their open courtyard for three days.
حدثنا قتيبة ومحمد بن بشار قالا حدثنا معاذ بن معاذ عن سعيد بن أبي عروبة عن قتادة عن أنس
أن النبي ﷺ كان إذا ظهر على قوم أقام بعرصتهم ثلاثا
Bukhari also narrated it in the Book of Jihad and Expeditions, in the chapter on one who defeats the enemy and remains on their battleground for three days, hadith no. 3065, from the narration of Muaz through the same chain.
