The Prophet ﷺ said, "Jibreel led me in prayer twice at the House. The first time, he prayed Dhuhr with me when the shadow was like the strap of a sandal. Then he prayed Asr when everything's shadow equaled its own length. Then he prayed Maghrib when the sun had set and the fasting person breaks his fast. Then he prayed Isha when the twilight disappeared. Then he prayed Fajr when dawn broke and food becomes forbidden to the fasting person. The second time, he prayed Dhuhr when the shadow of everything was equal to its length, the time of Asr the day before. Then he prayed Asr when the shadow of everything was twice its length. Then he prayed Maghrib at its earlier time. Then he prayed the late Isha after a third of the night had passed. Then he prayed Fajr when the land grew bright. Then Jibreel turned to me and said, 'Muhammad, these are the times of the prophets before you, and the proper time lies between these two times.'"
[Its chain of transmission is hasan] Abu Dawud reported it in the Book of Purification, Chapter on the Prescribed Times, no. 393, from the hadith of Ibn Abu Zinad with the same wording.
