An Arabi entered the mosque while the Prophet ﷺ was sitting. He prayed, and when he finished, he said, "Allah, have mercy on me and on Muhammad, and do not grant mercy to anyone else along with us."The Prophet ﷺ turned to him and said, "You have restricted something vast."It was not long before the man urinated in the mosque. The people rushed toward him, but the Prophet ﷺ said, "Pour a bucket of water, or a pail of water, over it." Then he said, "You have only been sent to make things easy, not to make things difficult."
[Its isnad is sahih]. Abu Dawud also narrated it in the book of Tahara, chapter, The land struck by urine, no. 380, from the hadith of Ibn Uyayna, with the same wording, and he explicitly stated the hearing in Humaydi's version, no. 944. Ibn Jarud graded it sahih, no. 141, as did Ibn Khuzayma, no. 298. See the hadith that follows.
