I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about hunting, and he said, "When you shoot your arrow, mention the name of Allah. If you find the game already dead, then eat it, unless you find it has fallen into water, in which case do not eat it, for you cannot tell whether the water killed it or your arrow did."

سألت رسول الله ﷺ عن الصيد فقال إذا رميت بسهمك فاذكر اسم الله فإن وجدته قد قتل فكل إلا أن تجده قد وقع في ماء فلا تأكل فإنك لا تدري الماء قتله أو سهمك
