I said, "Messenger of Allah, I shoot at game and then find my arrow in it the next day."He replied, "If you know that your arrow killed it and you see no trace of a predator on it, then eat it."

[Sahih] Nasai reported it: 7/193, no. 4305, from the hadith of Abu Bishr Jafar bin Iyas, through him, Abu Dawud Tayalisi, no. 1041, and the hadith has many corroborating narrations. The hadith of Abdul-Malik bin Maysara is found in the Musnad reported by Tayalisi and Nasai, no. 4307. And on this subject there is also a report from Abu Thalaba Khushani [Muslim, no. 1931].
