Abu Dawud narrated it in the chapters on legal penalties, in the chapter titled "Does a thief who steals during a military campaign have his hand cut off?", no. 4408, and Nasai narrated it, no. 4982, both from the hadith of Abbas bin Ayyash through the same route. Ibn Main said, "This isnad is Syrian."
